Serifos, Cyclades, Greece

Information about Serifos island

The island of Serifos is located in the western part of Cyclades and borders Kythnos and Sifnos. It is accompanied by three small islets: Piperi, Serifopoula and Vous.

Serifos is famous for its beautiful beaches and its picturesque alleys, while it is suitable for hiking, as it is rich in trails into wild Cycladic landscapes.

The location of Serifos’ Chora was linked to the need for fortification from the historical attacks of the Pirates in the Aegean. Its characteristic element is the Castle at the highest point of Chora. The locals of the island welcome the visitors by preserving the traditional Cycladic element, the customs and traditions of Serifos.

Below you may find a file with the map of the island, some of its most famous beaches and a basic mapped hiking trail.
